- The State Security Service has allegedly invited Mr Kassim Afegbua to its headquarters over the statement he released on behalf of General Babangida
- Afegbua’s lawyer has disclosed that he and his client would honor the invitation which allegedly came after he had reported to the Police HQ
- Afegbua is still considering what steps to take concerning the lawsuit he filed against the police
Kassim Afegbua, spokesman to former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida, has allegedly been invited by the State Security Service (SSS), Premium Times reports.
Afegbua reportedly told the publication that he had received a call from the secret police and was asked to report at its headquarters on Thursday, February 8, no later than 11am.
9jaloaded notes that the invitation allegedly comes following Afegbua’s visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, after being declared wanted by the police over a controversial statement he released on behalf of his principal.
The alleged invitation from the SSS also comes as Afegbua considers what to do next, concerning the N1bn lawsuit he had filed against the police and some media houses.
His counsel, Kayode Ajulo reportedly stated: “We will honour the (SSS) invitation by tomorrow morning. “We will be there, if that is how they want to run this country, we’ll see how far they can go with this.”
Meanwhile, 9jaloaded previously reported that Kassim Afegbua disclosed that the police apologised to him after declaring him wanted.
Afegbua had turned himself in to the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, February 7, in company of his lawyer and well-wishers. After the meeting, he stated that the police apologized and said there had been a mix-up.
